Success occurred last week when Hyundai delivered six of their ix35 hydrogen fuel cell vehicles to customers Air Products, ITM Power, Transport for London and Johnson Matthey (British company leading on environmentally sustainable technology).
The delivery is a result of the HyFIVE project and aptly follows the £11 million UK government funding announcement from OLEV minister, Matthew Hancock. The report promises to support the establishment of an initial network of up to 15 hydrogen refuelling stations by the end of 2015, and to support the delivery of public sector hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.
These vehicles being the first of their kind on the road are central to the commercialisation of hydrogen-powered cars in the UK.
